CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin is predicting higher office for Sen. Barack Obama—a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Barack Obama will be on the U.S. Supreme Court someday,” Toobin said in a Michigan speech Monday evening, according to a report in the Saginaw News. “It needs that kind of person, that kind of mind. It needs public officials—not nine judges, as it has now, who were all federal appeals court judges before being appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court. We need a mix, some who were public officials with a legal background.”

Toobin has written a book called The Nine: Inside the Secret World of the Supreme Court.

A Washington Post guest writer paints a different scenario. The columnist says that if Obama wins the presidency he should appoint Hillary Clinton to the high court.
