Was Cynthia Baldwin representing Pennsylvania State University, or two officials there, when she attended their grand jury testimony in a sex-abuse investigation against a former assistant football coach?

The answer to that question could affect the criminal cases against both officials, who are now facing perjury charges concerning their testimony, the Harrisburg Patriot-News reports.

Baldwin, then the university’s in-house counsel, said she was representing Penn State only, and she was allowed by the judge, as a courtesy, to watch the testimony of Tim Curley and Gary Schultz in the Jerry Sandusky probe.

But it appears that either or both of the witnesses could have misunderstood and thought Baldwin was representing them, according to the article.
