A Texas inmate convicted of filing fraudulent liens against two federal judges will have to serve an extra 20 years in prison.

Mycal Antoine Poole had filed false liens for more than $4.1 million against U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks and $37 million against U.S. Magistrate Judge Andrew Austin, the judges told Texas Lawyer. Both judges had ruled against the inmate.

Poole was sentenced Sept. 13 for filing a fraudulent financing statement and retaliation, the Texas Attorney General’s office announced. He is already serving a 60-year sentence for child sexual assault.

Both judges were witnesses in Poole’s trial. Austin told the legal publication that being on the other side of the bench presented some challenges. “I had to resist the urge to rule on the objections that arose during my testimony,” he said.
