A New York judge had to step in when a divorcing Long Island couple couldn’t decide how to divide about 7,000 family photos.

Judge Vito DeStefano of Nassau County ruled that the husband should get 75 percent of the photos because he was “intricately involved” with taking and cataloging the pictures, the New York Daily News reports.

“It’s not a pretty picture,” the newspaper wrote. The couple agreed to share custody of their two children, but couldn’t agree on the photos after an attempt to use technology to settle the dispute didn’t work.

The couple paid $2,100 to scan the photos onto a disk, but they weren’t happy with the quality and sought the originals. If they can’t agree how to divide the photos in the 75-25 split, they will have to go back to court on June 3.
