Judge Nixes Ex-White House Chief of Staff Sununu's Claim to $520K Fee, Warns Against Handshake Deals

An airline isn’t required to pay a former White House chief of staff, John Sununu, and his business partner a $520,000 “success fee,” a federal judge has ruled.

But U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth accused Philippine Airlines of “stinginess” for refusing to do so in the airline lease negotiation, reports the Associated Press.

He also offered Sununu this practical advice about business consulting contracts: “When in doubt, write it out.”
