Admonishing controversial defense attorney Geoffrey Fieger in a murder trial this morning, a Michigan judge told him she’ll declare a mistrial and send him to jail if he says the word “polygraph” in front of the jury one more time.

Fieger contends that his use of the offending word on Monday was a mistake, but Judge Rae Lee Chabot said she didn’t believe him, reports the Detroit Free Press.

“Nobody walks out of law school without knowing there is one word you don’t mention in a criminal trial and that’s ‘polygraph’,” she contended.

Fieger is defending Jonathan Belton in a murder case over the shooting of an Oak Park public safety officer following a traffic stop.
