The son of the late Gambino family mob boss John Gotti has been arrested on charges of a racketeering and murder conspiracy.

John “Junior” Gotti is accused by federal prosecutors in Tampa, Fla., of playing a role in three murders in the 1980s and 1990s, the New York Times reports. One of the murders was “a storied mob killing authorized by his father,” the story says.

Gotti was one of six men indicted in the racketeering conspiracy, the St. Petersburg Times reports. Prosecutors said the defendants were directed by Gambino associate John Alite, who was the bridge between New York mobsters and crimes in Tampa.

Gotti’s lawyer, Seth Ginsberg, told the Times that he and his client are “confident that there is no strength to the allegations and that he will prevail once again.”
