In a big step beyond its existing three offices in New York, New Jersey and San Francisco, a 1,400-attorney London-based law firm has now opened a fourth U.S. office, in Atlanta.

It is staffed by a team of three lawyers from Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi who focus their practice on representing insurers in coverage matters, explains a lengthy Daily Report (sub. req.). article. They are partners Robert Fisher and James Chin and associate Taylor Davis.

Since establishing its first U.S. office in New York in 2006, the Clyde firm has developed a 100-attorney American roster and is apparently looking to expand further.

“We want to be the preeminent insurance law firm in the world,” senior partner-elect James Burns tells the legal publication. “We are focused on a market that is truly inspirational and growing–and, thankfully, not a lot of other firms are doing what we do. … For some reason, law firms do not seem to be interested in insurance.”
