Five years after a Portland, Oregon, attorney received an apology from the state legislature for a decision denying his admission to the Oregon State Bar, he now faces challenges from four Multnomah County, Oregon, judges after disciplinary actions related to client representation, fees and records.
Earlier this year, the state bar suspended lawyer Robert Parker Jr.’s law license, paused that, then placed Parker on a three-year probation, which allows him to continue to practice law. That was based on the state bar’s findings that in three cases, Parker had charged and collected “a clearly excessive fee” and mishandled client funds and property, records show.
The judges filed a misconduct complaint last month alleging that Parker was repeatedly unprepared, late to court, absent from appearances and lacking courtroom decorum.
