About half the attorneys at Clark Thomas & Winters have formed a new law firm.

Duggins Wren Mann & Romero will continue, for now, to work at the Austin, Texas, offices of Clark Thomas but expects to move to a different location over the summer, reports the Austin American-Statesman.

In addition to David Duggins, Casey Wren, James Mann and Celina Romero, the new firm includes former Clark Thomas managing partner David Gilliland and 24 more lawyers.

Spokesman Chuck McDonald of Clark Thomas says Duggins firm “represents the significant core” of Clark Thomas. However, there is no immediate word on how the spinoff will affect the future of Clark Thomas, which is the oldest and was once the largest law firm in Austin.

“We have good practices and stable clients,” Gilliland told the newspaper yesterday. “It’s just the best for everyone involved.”
