A Texas criminal defense attorney was arrested for solicitation of prostitution and human trafficking Wednesday after a Snapchat video showing him allegedly engaging in sexual activity with two women and later giving them cash became the focus of a police investigation.
Neil Calfas of the Calfas Law Group in Texas was arrested following a raid on his San Antonio office by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
One 2024 Snapchat video allegedly showed him inside an office engaging in sexual activity with two women with the caption, “The deed is done,” according to an affidavit and coverage by WOAI.
Thousands of Snapchat files were examined by detectives during the investigation, and authorities concluded that both women in the video with Calfas were involved in commercial sex work. CashApp records showed Calfas, a licensed attorney since 1997, making several payments to one woman beginning in 2023 and continuing into late 2024.
His bonds total $110,000 for the two charges.
