A lawyer in Austin, Texas, has been arrested for allegedly paying $1,000 for the murder of another man.

The lawyer, 62-year-old James Walker, was charged after police secretly taped an alleged drug deal in which Walker sold drugs to a man identified as “Joshua” in a police affidavit. Walker agreed to pay Joshua $1,000 and provide him with a gun for the murder, the affidavit alleges. Fox 7 Austin, the Austin American Statesman, KEYE-TV and KXAN have stories.

Police taped the meeting after Joshua told them that Walker was his heroin supplier, and Walker wanted him to kill another man because of a dispute. Joshua was able to identify Walker from a photograph, police said.

Walker was charged with criminal solicitation capital murder and jailed on $100,000 bond.

The office address listed on the state bar website for Walker is the address of a car dealership, according to KEYE-TV. An employee of the dealership told the broadcast station that Walker had an office inside and he sometimes sees Walker’s clients visiting him there.
