'Tough as nails' Ginsburg was reportedly back in her office, planning to resume workouts
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was reportedly back in her office Tuesday afternoon after breaking three ribs in a fall last Wednesday night.
An anonymous court employee told the Associated Press that Ginsburg, 85, was in her office later in the day on Tuesday, although she missed a brief court session Tuesday morning.
Ginsburg continues to improve and has been working from home, Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg told AP earlier in the day.
Ginsburg’s personal trainer, Bryant Johnson, told Vox that the justice is “tough as nails,” and she is planning to resume her twice-per-week workouts next week.
Johnson said the workouts would be adjusted to accommodate Ginsburg’s cracked ribs. Regular workouts will resume when the justice regains her strength.
Ginsburg fell at her office last Wednesday and then went home. She went to George Washington University Hospital early Thursday after experiencing discomfort. Her nephew said she was working at the hospital before her release on Friday.
Ginsburg broke two ribs in 2012 but did not miss work. She has survived colon and pancreatic cancer and had heart stent surgery in 2014.
