Eleven lawyers exiting the Los Angeles office of Arent Fox to form their own litigation boutique are now looking to hire a handful of top associates.

“We’re convinced that there is a strong future for a litigation boutique with a very strong brand that handles high-stakes matters,” said name partner Robert O’Brien, who was California managing partner of Arent Fox. “We think it’s a different niche than an Am Law 200 general services firm.”

Clients the group is taking with them include the City of Irvine and the Walt Disney Co., he said. Larson O’Brien is now looking to hire as many as eight junior associates with top credentials, the Bloomberg Big Law Business blog reports.

Stephen Larson, a former federal judge and O’Brien’s co-managing partner at Arent Fox, is the other name on the marquee of the new firm.
