From Mob Wife to Public Defender: Edie Falco to star in new legal drama

Emmy-winning actor Edie Falco will play a public defender in the new Fox series, “Katie Greaves.”
Edie Falco, who starred as the wife of mobster Tony Soprano in the Emmy-winning HBO series The Sopranos, is taking on a new role as a public defender.
Deadline reported that Fox has ordered episodes of Katie Greaves, a character-driven legal drama starring Falco as “a whip-smart, fiercely committed attorney who stepped away from the New Hampshire Public Defender’s office following a devastating personal tragedy.”
Michael Thorn, president of Fox Television Network, described Greaves as an extraordinary character who is “funny, formidable, deeply human, and driven to fight for people who might otherwise be overlooked, including her own family,” he said. “The incredibly talented Edie Falco brings all of that strength, wit, and vulnerability to the screen, and there is no one we’d rather have at the center of this story.”
The series is scheduled to premiere during the 2027-28 season.
