If you are considering Yale Law School, be forewarned: The crowd there is “a little on the nerdy side,” but the Friday happy hours offer free alcohol and greasy food.

That’s the opinion of a reviewer on Yelp, which rates law schools and universities as well as businesses, ChicagoInno reports in a story noted by TaxProf Blog and Above the Law. At this writing, Yale had 4½ stars and six reviews.

Yelp is well-known for its reader reviews or restaurants and bars. “Now Yelp is launching its first round of TV and digital ads,” ChicagoInno says, “which specifically point out the site can help you choose a university (as well as where to get the best margarita to celebrate your degree).”

In one ad, Yelp’s “spokesdude” tells viewers, “Let’s say you’re hungry for justice, want to study to become a lawyer and don’t mind paying off hundreds of thousands of dollars of student loans. We know just the place.”

Above the Law checked the ratings for other law schools and found that the University of Chicago had five stars (“Good luck getting in,” says one reviewer, who noted that President Barack Obama used to be on the faculty), as did the University of Michigan (“I don’t know who does their law school research on Yelp, but Michigan is pretty much the best law school … ever,” one reviewer proclaims.)
