Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold is getting a makeover.

The law firm has officially shortened its name to Sedgwick, following the lead of firms such as Orrick and Bingham, the Recorder’s Legal Pad blog reports. Unlike the other firms, however, Sedgwick will use its shortened name across the board, not just on marketing materials.

The law firm explained the change in a press release and a video by the firm’s East Coast chairman Michael Tanenbaum. “First, we are accepting the reality of how we are known in the market and how we think about ourselves as Sedgwick,” he said. “Second, we are making this change as we reinvigorate our brand as the trial firm that companies trust.”
