She Did The Crime, She Holds the 'Idiot' Sign as Others Honk and Jeer re Illegal School Bus Pass
A woman who took a plea that requires her to hold a disparaging “only an idiot” sign at the scene of her crime—driving past a school bus on the sidewalk, near a day care center—is complying with her sentence.
Shena Hardin, 32, stood out in the cold in Cleveland on Tuesday in front of television cameras as a number of individuals driving down the street honked and others said what they thought. It wasn’t favorable to Hardin, the Associated Press reports .
“She’s an idiot, just like her sign says,” Lisa Kelley, whose 9-year-old daughter rides the school bus at issue, remarking that she wished it was raining or snowing, not just cold outside.
“She did this almost every day last year,” Kelley contended. “She won’t stop laughing. She’s not remorseful, she laughed at every court appearance. She’s still laughing, so she needs to be humiliated like this.”
Hardin also had her license suspended for 30 days and was ordered to pay $250 in costs in the Cleveland Municipal Court case.
Her legal counsel didn’t immediately respond to an AP request for comment.
