Suit Says Traumatized Mom Is Afraid to Breastfeed Baby in Public After Restaurant Rebuke
Allegedly rebuked and ordered to leave a New York City restaurant for breastfeeding her baby in public, a mother has sued, contending that she is now too traumatized to breastfeed outside her own home without great anxiety.
But manager Cathal Queally of Lily O’Brien’s Chocolate Cafe says plaintiff Julia Acevedo-Taylor wasn’t asked to leave, just to breastfeed more modestly, the New York Post reported
Taylor says in her suit, which was filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, that her nipple wasn’t exposed—and even if it had been, this was no cause for complaint by the restaurant.
