More than 38 million viewers stuck around after the Super Bowl last week to watch Undercover Boss—a reality show in which a senior executive at a major corporation works incognito in an entry-level position at his or her own company for one week.

We look forward to seeing execs go undercover at these companies in the coming weeks: Hooters, 7-Eleven, White Castle and Churchill Downs.

It’s a U.S. version of a British show—like NBC’s The Office, which showcases one potential worker lawsuit after another and is chronicled on Ford & Harrison’s That’s What She Said. One blogger noted how this show has the same potential. Although he didn’t call out Waste Management, the company featured Sunday, on anything in particular, Jay Shepherd wrote at Gruntled Employees: “I’m certain that employer attorneys around the nation had a similar reaction. Letting a camera crew film your bad employment practices and labor-law violations? Yikes.”

Our question to you: Does your inner lawyer ever rise up while you’re couch-surfing? When you’re watching TV, what makes you scream: ‘That’s not legal!’?

Featured answers:

Posted by Tom Tuft: “It certainly matters to prospective clients, which means it matters to me. Within days of publication every year, I receive calls based upon the ad. Also … the vast majority of my family law business is referrals from other lawyers.”

Posted by Stephen S Russell: “I have received the designation for five consecutive years and have not noticed any difference in my practice or lifestyle, except for the humorous harassment received at the office.”
