Jimmy Chilimigras won’t be able to buy alcohol for a few more years. But by then, he’ll have an LLM from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law under his belt.
According to a story published late last month in the Daily Northwestern, 18-year-old Chilimigras has enrolled at the Illinois law school to earn an LLM in taxation. Chilimigras, who graduated from the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law with a JD in May, said he was drawn to Northwestern University because of its small class sizes and its sense of community.
“What made my time at law school the most special was all the friends that I made, the professors that I have good relationships with, and I think those relationships will last us a lifetime,” he told the Daily Northwestern. “That’s what really characterized my time at law school, and I’m really hoping to carry that forward here.”
According to the Daily Northwestern, Chilimigras, whose program is expected to last one year, graduated high school when he was 12 years old and entered law school at age 15. He told the paper that he had wanted to be a lawyer since he was 6 or 7 years old, and he hoped to use his skills to help people and make an impact on society.
“I think it’ll be fun,” Chilimigras told the Daily Northwestern. “I like tax, so I think it’s going to be like a little vacation.”
