A former Philadephia judge who once held supervisory responsibilities in traffic court has pleaded guilty to felony conflict of interest.

Thomasine Tynes, 71, whose lawyer says she suffers from dementia, has cooperated with the Philadelphia district attorney’s office and will not get any additional time due to her plea in the bribery case, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Tynes will plead guilty to a felony conflict of interest charge, her lawyer, Louis Busico, said in a sentencing memorandum in a separate federal case alleging misuse of powers by Pennsylvania traffic court judges. She is hoping for house arrest when she is sentenced for perjury in that case next month.

“It is anticipated that more arrests of Philadelphia politicians will be made by the office of Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams based, in part, from the cooperation of Thomasine Tynes,” wrote Busico. Williams pursued the case after the state attorney general declined to do so.
