Personal injury law firm Morgan & Morgan plans to invest $1 billion in artificial intelligence and technology over the next decade.
In its announcement Monday, Morgan & Morgan, which is based in Orlando, Florida, also said it would sell MX2, its AI platform that can help extract medical information and generate case documents, to other firms by the end of 2027. It spent $300 million building the platform, and it now has nearly 5,000 monthly users.
Reuters and Bloomberg Law have coverage.
In an interview with Reuters, Yath Ithayakumar, the chief transformation officer at Morgan & Morgan, said while the investment will include hiring personnel and building software and security capabilities, the majority “is going to be very targeted towards AI.”
In 2025, a federal judge in Wyoming sanctioned lawyers from Morgan & Morgan for a motion that cited eight nonexistent cases, at least some of which were apparently generated by AI.
Ithayakumar acknowledged the error, telling Reuters that it happened “because we were early adopters of AI, and we were moving fast.”
He noted that the firm has since invested in better training processes.
