An employee of White & Case has agreed to drop his claims that the law firm discriminated and retaliated against him after he demanded an investigation into the dissemination of intimate photos taken of him at a firm party.
A notice of discontinuance signed by attorneys for both parties was filed in the Bronx County Supreme Court in New York City on June 25, according to Bloomberg Law. It noted that “this action shall be discontinued with prejudice, with each party to bear its own attorneys’ fees and costs.”
The plaintiff, who brought the complaint under the pseudonym John Doe in March, works as a digital production specialist at White & Case. He alleged that during a firm retreat in California in 2023, he was stripped naked and photographed by his supervisor and possibly other colleagues while he was unconscious. He also alleged that the images were circulated by members of firm management and staff for years without his knowledge.
“White & Case has high expectations for professionalism, respect and integrity throughout our firm, and strong policies and procedures in place to support this,” a spokesperson for the firm said in emailed comments to Bloomberg Law.
Eisenberg & Baum, which represents the plaintiff, didn’t respond to Bloomberg Law’s request for comment.
