U.K. law firm Eversheds is testing iPads for its lawyers in a two-month pilot program.

The law firm currently equips its lawyers with BlackBerrys but there’s “a lot you can’t do on Blackberry that you can do on an iPad,” a spokesperson told The Lawyer.

About 50 people at the firm will try out the new devices. The aim, according to a press release, is to “explore new ways of ensuring that Eversheds lawyers can not only stay connected to clients but access the data they need 24/7.”

The firm says lawyers will be able use the iPad to review documents, host virtual meetings, arrange schedules, and access e-mail and client relationship management systems. Technology by outside vendor Citrix will be used to deliver the applications, according to CRN and Silicon.com.

The test is funded equally by Eversheds, Citrix and technology vendor Computacenter.
