Rather than fighting a trend toward more individual involvement in their own legal matters, a Florida matrimonial lawyer is joining it.

For those seeking an end to their marriages on a low-budget basis, Steven Miller of Plantation offers an a la carte menu of legal services and self-help options on his website, DivorceDeli.com, reports a PRNewswire press release. Also licensed in Massachusetts, he is planning to launch the site there, too.

The firm charges flat fees rather than hourly rates to its online divorce clients, and the website allows them to pick and choose among options including free video they can view online about the divorce process. The firm’s prices, which are posted on the website, start at $249 for a divorce for those without children and $299 for those who have children, not including court costs. “Customers even receive free biscotti baked by Miller’s wife, Amy, with every order,” the press release notes.

From Miller’s standpoint, the website—which he revised after a bar complaint was made about an earlier version, DivorceEZ.com—caters to what many customers want and offers a much-needed alternative to full-service and no-service divorces for budget-conscious consumers. “DivorceDeli streamlines the process to make it easier than hiring traditional Florida divorce lawyers, and more thorough and effective than filing services,” he says.
