Put your best professional foot forward by wearing a skirt and stilettos, not pantsuits, a renowned London-based international law firm reportedly is telling its women lawyers and other female staffers.

In fashion advice that appears likely to be controversial, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, a member of the so-called “magic-circle,” has “gently suggested” to women lawyers that they would look better in skirts and high heels, according to Marie Claire. The suggestion is based on advice from fashion consultants.

“However, although accentuating your leg length is highly recommended, necklaces are to be avoided for fear of drawing attention to the bustline; yes, really,” the magazine recounts.
