John O’Brien was named editor and publisher of the ABA Journal in 2019. O’Brien earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in public affairs reporting from the University of Illinois at Springfield. A veteran journalist with more than 25 years of experience, O’Brien’s prior career included stints as managing editor of the Daily Southtown and Joliet Herald-News newspapers, news editor for Sun-Times Media, and senior editor at DNAinfo.com.
