Ex-dean of University of Colorado Law School on state's ballot for governor

The former dean of the University of Colorado Law School won the state’s democratic primary election for governor last week, defeating sitting U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet of Colorado.
As Colorado’s two-term state attorney general, Phil Weiser filed more than 66 lawsuits against the Trump administration that challenged funding cuts to the state, the decision to relocate the U.S. Space Command headquarters from Colorado to Alabama, and President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown and tariff increases.
Weiser is heavily favored to win the November general election in Colorado, where a Republican governor has not been elected in more than 20 years.
