A new report from the ABA Task Force on Law and Artificial Intelligence explores artificial intelligence’s impact on the legal profession and provides resources to help lawyers and judges continue to navigate the complex and rapidly changing technology.
“As the national voice for the legal profession, the ABA is uniquely positioned to assess the opportunities and challenges that AI presents and to help ensure its integration is ethical and responsible and serves the public good,” according to Year 2 Report on the Impact of AI on the Practice of Law, which was released Monday.
The report highlights how AI has affected several areas, including the rule of law, the courts and legal education. It also looks at risks involved with the use of AI, as well as bar ethics rules and guidance related to AI.
Since its creation in August 2023, the ABA Task Force on Law and Artificial Intelligence has provided other essential resources for ABA members and the profession on the impact of AI. The report lists programs and events recommended by the task force and from across the ABA, many of which are available at ambar.org/ailaw.
