More than 15 international law firms are launching the Global Legal Tech Alliance with the aim of developing and deploying artificial intelligence to reshape legal services.

The alliance will provide a “structured, law-firm-led platform” for addressing challenges with AI and legal technology, Hogan Lovells, one of its members, announced Wednesday. Its work will include developing joint standards and solutions to complex issues now regularly encountered by firms.

“The Global Legal Tech Alliance allows us to put innovations into practice faster than ever while also creating a one-of-a-kind learning ecosystem for legal professionals to grow and thrive,” said Sebastian Lach, a partner at Hogan Lovells and co-CEO of its legal tech subsidiary Eltemate, in the announcement.

Member firms will have access to the Global Legal Tech Alliance Academy, which offers training resources and programs, and the Global Legal Tech Alliance Forum, which provides opportunities to exchange ideas on emerging technology and legal operations. Senior firm leaders can join the Global Legal Tech Alliance Strategic Forum to discuss the future of legal tech and the profession.

Other members of the alliance include Tilleke & Gibbins; Moll Wendén; Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft; Levy & Salomão Advogados; Havel & Partners; Gercke Wollschläger; AGS Legal; Winter Thürk, Walder Wyss; MLL Legal; and Jiménez Peña Abogados.
